The detached house is situated on the edge of the village of Bemelen, in the expansion location De Steeg. Bemelen is located at the edge of the Maas valley and lies on a plateau. The image of the surrounding landscape is determined by this location. The location gives a wide view of the landscape with the towers of Maastricht in the distance. The narrow plot, the orientation of the house and the magnificent view have determined the organisation and architecture of the house. By entering the house from the side, raising the ground floor and deepening the garage, it is possible to use the entire width of the house for living. The living room and kitchen are at the front to make the most of the sun and the view.
